Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SoulChat ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

SoulChat is an AI-powered companion app that provides conversational emotional support through virtual characters. The App uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate responses. All conversations are AI-generated and do not represent the opinions, advice, or statements of real persons.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

SoulChat is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service. The AI characters in SoulChat are designed to provide empathetic conversation and emotional companionship. They are not:

• A substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• A replacement for licensed mental health professionals
• A crisis intervention or suicide prevention hotline
• A reliable source for medical, legal, or financial decisions

Always seek the advice of qualified professionals for important decisions. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency services.

Free & Pro Subscriptions

SoulChat offers two tiers:

• Free tier: 10 messages per day, 1 character (Warmie), 3-day chat history retention.
• Pro subscription: 100 messages per day, all 5 characters, permanent chat history, and conversation export. Available as monthly ($2.99) or annual ($29.99) subscription.

Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and managed via your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to harm, manipulate, or exploit the AI system
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code or AI prompts
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access the App beyond normal usage
• Share your device's access with others in a way that violates these Terms
• Upload or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights

Content Filtering

SoulChat employs content safety measures including keyword filtering and the AI model's built-in safety features. The App may redirect conversations away from certain topics including but not limited to: illegal activities, explicit sexual content, and violent instructions. These filters are not perfect and may occasionally allow or block content in error.

Data & Privacy

Your use of SoulChat is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points: no personal accounts (device-based identity), conversations are AI-processed, and you can erase all data at any time.

Limitation of Liability

SoulChat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any emotional distress, psychological harm, or negative outcomes resulting from conversations with AI characters
• We are not liable for any actions you take based on AI-generated advice or suggestions
• We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or AI-generated content that is inaccurate, harmful, or offensive
• We are not liable for any failure of the AI to detect crisis situations or provide appropriate resources

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers of SoulChat from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of SoulChat after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

You may stop using SoulChat at any time. You can erase your data via Settings → Erase My Data. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.

Intellectual Property

SoulChat, including its AI character designs, conversations, visual design, and software, is the intellectual property of its developers. You retain ownership of the text messages you type. AI-generated responses are provided for your personal use and may not be redistributed commercially.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
