SimpleWeather pulls live forecasts from the Open-Meteo API, a free and open weather data service. Forecasts cover current conditions, hourly outlook, and a multi-day view.
Forecasts are statistical model estimates and can be wrong. For official severe-weather warnings, always check your local meteorological agency.
How do I see my local weather? Open the app and allow location access when prompted. SimpleWeather will show the weather for where you are right now.
I don't want to share my location. No problem — decline the location prompt and search for any city by name instead. You can also pick "approximate" location for your general area without sharing exact coordinates.
How do I switch units? You can toggle between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) in Settings. Your choice is remembered on your device.
Is my location tracked? No. SimpleWeather uses your location only at the moment it fetches the weather. It is not stored in a profile, not tracked in the background, and never sold.
How do I revoke location access? Go to iOS Settings → SimpleWeather → Location and set it to "Never", or simply switch to manual city search inside the app.
Do I need an account? No. SimpleWeather has no login, no email, no password. Just open it and use it.
How do I delete my data? Because we don't store your personal data on our servers, there's nothing to erase online. To remove everything, just delete the app — your local settings (city, units, theme) go with it.
Weather isn't updating: Check your internet connection. Pull to refresh on the main screen. If it still fails, the data provider may be temporarily unavailable — try again in a few minutes.
My location shows the wrong city: Try granting "precise" location instead of "approximate". You can also search for your city manually under Settings.
The forecast seems off: Forecasts come from weather models and can occasionally be inaccurate, especially for rapidly changing conditions. This is a limitation of weather prediction, not a bug.
The app feels slow: The first load after opening may take a moment while it fetches fresh data. Animations are designed to feel smooth even on older devices.
What can I see? Current temperature, feels-like, humidity, wind, hourly forecast, and a multi-day outlook — all presented with smooth animations and a clean design.
Is there a paid version? No. SimpleWeather is completely free, with no subscription, no ads, and no in-app purchases.
